What to know
The ROVE manual lists an expired seat among the ones you must not use, and defines expired as over 10 years from the date of manufacture. UPPAbaby says the model number, manufactured date and expiration date are on the manufacture labels or engraved on the underside of the child restraint, so check the plastic itself as well as the stickers. The manual states this child restraint is certified for aircraft use and includes a rear-facing aircraft installation procedure. Ten years matches the KNOX rather than the 7 years UPPAbaby gives most of its infant carriers.
The date of manufacture is on the seat itself. The expiration date and date of manufacture are printed on labels on the bottom of the seat shell and on the car seat base. The serial number needed for registration and support is on the same label.
Safety note: SeatCheck summarizes manufacturer and NHTSA guidance, but the label on your own seat and its manual are the final word. When in doubt, contact the manufacturer with your model and serial number.
