What to know

The manual instructs discontinuing use 7 years after the date of manufacture or after a crash. The expiration date is printed on the bottom of the shell and on the base.

The date of manufacture is on the seat itself. The expiration date and date of manufacture are printed on labels on the bottom of the seat shell and on the car seat base. The serial number needed for registration and support is on the same label.

Safety note: SeatCheck summarizes manufacturer and NHTSA guidance, but the label on your own seat and its manual are the final word. When in doubt, contact the manufacturer with your model and serial number.
