What to know
Both the ARIA and the ARIA V2 manuals carry the same notice of expiration: discontinue use of this child restraint after 7 years from the date of manufacture or after a crash. UPPAbaby tells you to refer to the labels on the bottom of the carrier and the base for the dates. Seven years puts the ARIA alongside the MESA V2 and MESA MAX rather than the 10-year MESA V3, so a newer UPPAbaby infant seat does not automatically mean a longer life. Both manuals state the restraint is certified for aircraft use; fly the carrier without its base.
The date of manufacture is on the seat itself. The expiration date and date of manufacture are printed on labels on the bottom of the seat shell and on the car seat base. The serial number needed for registration and support is on the same label.
Safety note: SeatCheck summarizes manufacturer and NHTSA guidance, but the label on your own seat and its manual are the final word. When in doubt, contact the manufacturer with your model and serial number.
